[ It's actually only been a few days and he already has another question, but this one is ...world's apart and a lot more embarrassing to ask about. He's vague in this, at least, and merely sends England a text to ask if he's free etc. ]

Are you busy? I wanted to ask you something else but it might be better over tea.

Hello. I can meet you after my shift is over, if you'd like to come to my workplace. They have tea and snacks here.

Somewhere private would probably be better if you don't mind? If you let me know when you're leaving I can set it up here. I went back to the tea shop and bought more anyway.

All right. I'll leave in a few hours and come to your place.

[ Whether England lets him know he's coming or not, everything is set up by the time he actually arrives. He prepared early then pretty much stared at his grimoire for the next few hours in the hope that reading up on new spells and such would make him feel less awkward and nervous about this because it was going to be an ... embarrassing question. Sorry, England.

He just doesn't have anyone else to ask. :( ]

[a few hours later, England will send a text to Merlin to tell him he's on his way. it takes about ten minutes to get to the residential district, and then he's heading to Merlin's apartment. he's brought some leftover scones with him, ones from his workplace, not that he made himself.

he knocks on the door and waits, wondering what Merlin could possibly need him for. obviously, he wanted to talk about something private. England's a bit nervous!]

[ He smiles as he lets him in, trying to make sure it doesn't seem too bad (hopefully it isn't, but he doesn't really know how England's going to react anyway). He'll start with idle chit chat anyway, so he doesn't have to worry about just diving right in. ]

Come in! How was your day? I started the tea already so it should be finished now. You can sit down if you want...?

[well, Merlin seems far more chipper than England was expecting. he slips out of his shoes and nods a greeting before going to sit down]

My day was fine, thank you for asking. It was fairly uneventful. [nothing like rogue robots or CERES employees roaming around]

[ He wanders to the side to grab the tea from the kitchen, fetching part out by himself, the milk and cutlery and sturdy cups just... floating around in front of him until it drops with a clunk onto the table. ]

Here we go... hopefully it's strong enough.

[ Thankfully he doesn't have delicate china... ah. ]

Sounds like a good day to me.

[whoa! how cool! Merlin was using magic. but, then, why wouldn't he?]

I suppose it was. [he takes up his mug and doesn't take a sip yet. just inhales. it certainly smells strong enough] And how was yours?

[ Why wouldn't he, indeed? ]

It was... fine? [ He takes his own after, though he does take a sip. ] I was at work in the morning as well, so this time was probably better.

Where is it that you work?

The magic shop. Well, today it was there, I work part time... uh. [ Watch as he trails off, awkward but okay-- ] The cosplay cafe?

I do temporary party magician stuff and poker dealing as well though.

[ Why does he have 4 jobs??????? ]

It sounds like you're being pulled in a lot of directions. [England muses as he takes his first sip] Just be careful that you don't overexert yourself.

[ ...he has lots of tricks up his sleeve. ]

I've been doing it for 2 months already now. Well, around 2 months. [ Shrugs. ] Time is weird here.

Yes, it certainly is. I feel like I've been here nearly twice as long as what the calendar says. [his eyes squint in thought]

Uh... I more mean that I'm not even used to counting in hours, minutes and... seconds?

Ah... Right, of course. [he nods] How... is everything going with that? Learning all the new things, I mean.

Well I've had help... it could have been a lot worse, I think.

[ He takes a gulp of tea, and looks at England over the top of his cup. He tries to keep a straight face as he holds it between both palms, but he ends up pressing his lips together anyway. ]

Part of that is why I wanted your help actually it's just... um. Embarrassing?

[ It's more than that tbh... ]

I promise, I won't laugh. [England's pretty good at keeping a straight face, hiding his emotions] No matter what it is, I will help you to the best of my ability.

It's not really laughter I'm worried about. [ He chews on his lip. ] I mean ... I don't know if you can help it's just--

[ He just stares down at his cup then, rolls it between his hands so the liquid sloshes a little. ]

I ... We. Um.

[ help ]

[England waits patiently. we, hm? that could mean a variety of things]

...Yes?

[ Well, a slow flush is starting to form on his face so hopefully that's somewhat of an indicator before he starts talking again. ]

Sorry, I just. I didn't want to ask, but I don't know who else to... [ He groans then and one hand lets go of the cup to smack himself in the head while he cringes. ] Just... Remember how I told you there was... is a girl? I... [ Why is this so hard... ] We started uh... just. England. Can you... do you know how to-- [ He's practically burning a hole in his tea now. ] Well maybe you don't because of the whole... thing but-- Do you know how... to ensure a girl is happy when you're with her? Wait-- no that doesn't.

[ This is probably coming out quickly too. What a mess. Finally he puts his cup down to rub his face, then tries again. ] Things went further than I expected to go but I couldn't... I don't know how to...

[ please get it... ]

[oh. ... oh.

England begins to blush, as well, all the way to his ears. Merlin wanted to... to...]

You... couldn't... please her? [in bed, right? oh dear lord]

[ He's so sorry... and is sinking down into his seat now while trying to become one with it. ]

No. It isn't like we ever talk about this stuff back home, I honestly didn't think it would come up but...

[ Help him somehow... he's so lost. ]
